The Innovation and Strategy Division (UE-I) is a part of Corporate Development at FZ Jülich, actively overseeing sustainability management and comprehensive technology transfer initiatives, encompassing knowledge and technology transfer, start-ups, licensing, and patent marketing.

The dedicated innovation managers at UE-I extend their guidance to businesses and societal groups seeking to harness the potential of novel technologies and knowledge generated at Forschungszentrum Jülich. They render steadfast support to FZ Jülich's institutes and researchers, managing transfer processes while providing hands-on assistance for various transfer projects

Innovation Management is FZ Jülich's transfer office and advises scientists on how to find ways to transform their research results into real-world applications. Spin-offs, licensing, knowledge transfer and cooperations create great added value, for their career, the economy and society.

UE-I publishes technology offers and manages the financing of transfer projects with resources from the Innovation Fund at Forschungszentrum Jülich. To reduce the workload for scientists and institutes, the department handles negotiations and administration of licences.

As an office for technology transfer, the Innovation Managers provide support for spin-offs, explain the basics of entrepreneurship and promote training for scientific innovators.
