Our research, undertaken in close cooperation with our partner institute at RWTH Aachen University, focuses on the nanoelectronics of the future. To this end, we investigate electronic phenomena in oxides and electronically-active organic molecules.

Success for PGI: Funding for Five Projects in the DFG Priority Programme “Memristive Devices Toward Smart Technical Systems”

Five research projects involving the Peter Grünberg Institute are set to receive funding from the German research foundation Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), as part of the DFG Priority Programme SPP2262 “Memristive Devices Toward Smart Technical Systems”.

Quantum optical systems with cold atoms an ions provides one of the best ways to build controllable quantum many-body systems as quantum computers and quantum simulators. Here we report on recent developments in building, and in particular programming quantum simulators based on trapped ions as intermediate scale quantum devices.
