Pickering emulsion

Pickering emulsions
We synthesize and characterize nanostructured particles that act as novel surface-active stabilizers in solid-stabilized oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsions. By proper choice of the components, the properties of the kinetically stabilized droplets and capsules can be tailored, and stimuli-responsive micron-sized capsules can be engineered. Such systems are of interest for the remote-controlled transport and release of encapsulated substances, and for interfacial catalysis.
