Functional nanostructures
By combining structurally different components in nanostructured hybrids, we design and sythesize anisotropic functional multi-component nanostructures. Novel materials, e. g. with core-shell-, raspberry-, Janus-, or flower-like architecture, with novel or extended properties and controlled symmetry evolve. These nanostructures have unexpected magneto-optical properties and may serve as nanocatalysts. We apply preparation methods from colloid chemistry, polymer chemistry, and organic synthesis, and investigated their dynamic behavior in external fields.
