Autophagy
Autophagy is a highly conserved mechanism in eukaryotes to degrade cellular components. Autophagy plays an important role both in the baseline turnover of intracellular proteins and organelles, as well as in the production of amino acids under starvation conditions. We investigate proteins that are involved in this process.

Biomolecular NMR Center
The Biomolecular NMR Center, which is jointly run by the Institute of Physical Biology at HHU Düsseldorf and the IBI-7, operates various high-field NMR machines and provides an excellent environment for liquid and solid state NMR spectroscopy for structural biology on biologically and medically relevant proteins.
