Quantum Hall effect gyrators

Non-reciprocal devices, such as gyrators and circulators, are key components for modern microwave engineering. In the talk, I will present a microscopic model that describes the response of gyrators employing 2-dimensional materials in the quantum Hall regime capacitively coupled to external electrodes. As the conduction in these devices is associated to driven edge magnetopasmons (EMP), I will first focus on the EMP problem, which is tackled by using the linear response theory in the random phase approximation, and then I will analyze the response of the device. Interestingly, the response presents new resonant features, which were not foreseen from previous models.
