The Secret Light of Plants

Düsseldorf/Jülich, 6 July 2017 – A mysterious red light that all living plants emit is providing plant researchers with new insights into the process of photosynthesis. A new exhibition entitled "The Secret Light of Plants", which opens on 12 July in the orangery of the Botanical Garden of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, reveals where this chlorophyll fluorescence comes from and how it can be seen with the naked eye.
