Increased Safety for the Disabled

Forschungszentrum Jülich and Lebenshilfe launch research project

Jülich/Wermelskirchen, 3 February 2016 – Natural disasters, fires, and technical accidents can endanger all of us. Sometimes, it is essential to evacuate a site or building rapidly. But what happens if those affected are not able to recognize a concrete danger or require help from others in order to escape? Since the beginning of February, Werkstatt Lebenshilfe im Bergischen Land GmbH and Forschungszentrum Jülich, with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing as coordinator, have been conducting a project on safety for people with physical, mental, and age-related disabilities to address these issues.
