Vom 17. bis 19. Oktober 2011 fand der internationale Workshop "Simulation and Manipulation of Quantum Systems for Information Processing (SMQS-IP2011)" im Jülich Supercomputing Centre statt. Mehr als 50 Wissenschaftler aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Polen, Niederlande, USA und Japan nahmen teil.
